Research has shown that racial prejudice and discrimination can be part of the lived experience of NHS staff and have significant consequences for staff well-being and subsequently patient care. However, to date, this has not been explored for staff working in specialist palliative care services.
We invite and encourage all staff in specialist palliative care teams and organisations in the UK to complete the first APM survey to explore this issue. We would value your engagement with this vital project.
- The survey is voluntary and anonymous.
- People of ALL ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to participate, regardless of whether they have experienced or witnessed racial prejudice/discrimination.
- We want people working in ALL rolesto participate, clinical and non-clinical.
- Should take approximately 10-15 mins to complete, closing date 30/10/22.
Please encourage and support all colleagues, whether clinical or non-clinical to complete the survey. It is important that we capture and hear everyone’s voice and experience – this includes housekeeping and catering staff, volunteers and members of the senior leadership team. Some staff may have additional barriers to taking part, please explore this with them and support them where possible. Poster is attached for the staff.
