APM Mentoring

The process whereby an experienced, highly regarded, empathic person (the mentor) guides another individual (the mentee) in the development and re-examination of their own ideas, learning, and personal and professional development. The mentor, who often, but not necessarily works in the same organisation as the mentee, achieves this by listening, or talking in confidence to the mentee.

The APM mentoring scheme has been developed to provide support and guidance for consultants, speciality and staff grade doctors, and trainees in palliative medicine in the final 6 months of training.

Please contact Compleat Secretariat if you wish to be put in touch with a specific mentor or if you have any queries.

Becoming a Mentor for the APM

We are currently recruiting consultant mentors to support this scheme. This is a great opportunity to help support colleagues. Almost 90% of those who have used the scheme in the past would recommend it.

If you are willing to be a mentor please complete this Mentor Form and send back to Compleat Secretariat. Please be aware that the form will be posted on the APM mentoring page so that potential mentees can contact you directly.
