Two day course exploring effective communication within healthcare and examining the application of specific communication strategies to complex healthcare related interactions. Offered face to face or online.

Training for Facilitators
Training For Facilitators is a three day, multi-professional course that prepares facilitators to deliver high quality, evidence based Advanced Communication Skills Training. The main aim of the workshop is to enable participants to develop their knowledge and understanding of teaching and assessing communication skills at an advanced level.
Delivered by expert trainers, the course provides an opportunity to gain up to date knowledge of the evidence base surrounding the application of communication skills training and course design. You will explore how to set up and facilitate role play, using video feedback and discussion safely and effectively, understand and manage group dynamics and learn how to work with actors. The course has been used to train facilitators nationally to the standard of the National Advanced Communication Skills Programme (Connected) and is led by Dr Susie Wilkinson and Anita Roberts.
It is open to all senior healthcare professionals who have completed an advanced communication skills training programme such as the Wilkinson ACST programme, the Connected Course or equivalent and who want to be actively involved in teaching communication skills to healthcare professionals. This course is held in person in Liverpool.

Breaking Boundaries: Innovations and Complexity in Palliative Care – Registration is now OPEN and our abstract submissions!
We are pleased to announce that preparations are well underway for our 14th annual conference, which will also take place at a new venue this year.
Join us on 30 September and 1 October at the Stirling Court Hotel, set within the scenic grounds of the University of Stirling. The venue offers complimentary parking and a convenient shuttle service from Stirling city centre bus station, making access straightforward for all delegates.

Hospice Clinicians Medical Update Course
Palliative medicine is evolving rapidly, with new treatments, research and clinical guidance continually shaping practice. At the same time, increasing patient complexity, multimorbidity and chronic disease present growing challenges for clinicians working in hospice and community settings. There is a significant focus on identifying reversibility (or lack of) in acutely unwell patients with life limiting conditions and in promoting safe management in non-acute settings, e.g. community and hospice.
Designed for palliative care physicians and Clinical Nurse Specialists, the Hospice Clinicians Medical Update (HCMU) course provides practical, hospice-focused updates on key developments in general medicine relevant to daily clinical practice. It may be particularly valuable for clinicians who trained before the introduction of dual accreditation in Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine, or those from diverse medical backgrounds.
The course covers advances in treatment, emerging evidence, regulatory changes, and the assessment and management of acutely unwell patients with life-limiting illness. It offers a convenient way for busy clinicians to stay up to date, build confidence and enhance the quality and safety of care they provide.
Course delegates will:
- Receive timely, evidence-based medical updates relevant to palliative care. Talks will cover cardiac dysfunction, management of advanced liver disease, anticoagulation in palliative medicine, substance misuse and EUPD.
- Participate in professional development and have the opportunity for discussion following each talk.
- Receive CPD credits: 5 category 1 (external) CPD credits
