Preparing for Reality through Palliative Care Simulation: How to Get Started and Why You Should

We will present a brief evidence base for simulation in healthcare and then present 3 projects where palliative care simulation was effectively utilised to address an issue or theme in the workplace.

We will be hearing from the following 3 speakers, followed by Q&A:

• Daisy Jacobs, advanced clinical practitioner, St Nicholas Hospice  – speaking about augmented simulation in a hospice setting for the MDT
• Dr Laura Nightingale, palliative medicine consultant, Kingston Hospital – speaking about MDT-focused palliative care simulation in a hospital setting
• Dr Grace Rowley, palliative medicine consultant, North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust – speaking about palliative care simulation for doctors including difficult conversation training for consultants.

The APM’s Monthly Webinar Series
The APM Education and Training Committee will host this series of webinars throughout 2026, and they are FREE for APM Members to attend (membership status will be verified!) Each webinar will take place on a mid-week day, in the first week of each month, except January and August when we will take a break! To engage all levels of membership, there will be a specific focus each month. We are not applying for CPD for these webinars, please just ask for an attendance certificate so you can self-certify.
